All guests should aim to be in Palm Springs by noon on Friday, February 2nd, 2024, and can schedule flights home mid-day Sunday, February 4th, 2024. Please keep in mind that in order to RSVP for the wedding, you will need to provide flight or hotel confirmation.

CALIFORNIA ARRIVALS

The State of California is incredibly large and offers a few arrival options. The couple recommends flying directly into the Palm Springs Airport (PSP), which may cost a bit more, however, a $10 Uber will take you directly to the city center, and will cut down substantially on extra travel time. Another arrival option is the Los Angeles Airport (LAX), famously known for its efficiency and proximity to the stars, a great option for larger groups and budget travelers. Please keep in mind that it will take four to five hours to drive from Los Angeles to Palm Springs. If you are with a group and use a rental car, it should be cost-effective, but the couple recommends taking an early morning flight to ensure that you make it to all of the wedding events. A third option is flying into San Diego, a happy medium between the two and only two to three hour drive into Palm Springs.

Flight tracker

The couple recommends using flight trackers like SkyScanner or Hopper to get the best rates on flights to the area. Flights from Detroit to Palm Springs range from $340 - 450, depending on when you book. The best time to book is usually four to six months out. You can also schedule reminders and notifications when the lowest rate is available.

Airlines

American Airlines is one of the only airlines that provides service from Detroit to Palm Springs. While there is typically a one to two-hour layover in Chicago or Phoniex, they offer the most competitive prices. (Pro Tip: The couple recommends AVOIDING layovers in Chicago at O'Hare Airport, notorious for delays, the couple spent three hours sitting at the gate after four different delays.) American Airlines also offers service from New York, Dallas, Nashville, and Ohio. All cabins are entitled to one personal item and one carry-on suitcase.

REntal car

If you are flying directly in Palm Springs, there is no need for a rental car. However, if you are flying into Los Angeles or San Diego, one is necessary. While all rental car companies range in cost and amenities, Avis is regularly budget-friendly.
