additional recommendations and questions

This page will provide additional recommendations and address anticipated questions related to Hailey and Kwesi's destination wedding! If there are any lingering questions, feel free to contact the couple directly or email bri.weddings@gmail.com.

why are you doing a destination wedding?

Travel has always been one of the highlights of our relationship, and as we considered what the start to our marriage would look like, we knew that we wanted to infuse travel and new experiences in such a big moment. We know that not everyone will be able to join us in California and we completely understand, we look forward to celebrating with you afterwards and will also be offering a live stream of our wedding ceremony.

when should we plan to be in palm springs?

For additional information, you can visit the Itinerary or Flight Recommendations pages, but we recommend that our guests arrive in Palm Springs by noon on Friday, February 2nd, 2024 and fly home Sunday, February 4th, 2024. However, some guests have expressed plans to stay longer in the state and travel to other areas of California.

3

What is the wedding attire?

The dress code for the wedding is Formal Attire - sits between cocktail and black tie, allowing some flexibility,  so dressy separates and dresses that hit above the ankle are acceptable, as well as fitted, darker-hued suits paired with a crisp white button-down and tie.  As for colors to avoid for formal weddings, steer clear of white, ivory, cream, or champagne-colored dresses and light-colored suits. You should also avoid pieces that may read as too casual, such as a cotton sundress or sports coat with chino pants.

4

when should i rsvp?

If you are reading this, you should have received a formal announcement from the couple either through mail or delivered in person. (If that is not how you received the link to this website, you may not be on the guest list and should contact bri.weddings@gmail.com for more information). A formal invitation is to follow and will include instructions on how to reserve your spot. Invitations will be mailed out around five months prior to the wedding date, with RSVPs due six weeks prior. To RSVP, you will need to provide your flight confirmation code or your hotel booking confirmation code to confirm your spot.

5

Can I bring kids to the wedding?

The couple welcomes all invited guests of all ages. However, parents should know they are responsible for their kids throughout the wedding. Alcoholic beverages will be served, explicit music will be played, and there is a pool on the property with no lifeguard in attendance. If infants or children begin crying during the wedding ceremony or dinner, the parents must remove the children not to disrupt the proceedings. The couple can recommend babysitting services in California, when requested.

6

Can I smoke at the wedding?

La Chureya Estate is an absolutely NO SMOKING facility. If guests are smoking on the proprty, that will envoke a $500 fine, that will be passed onto the individual found smoking.

7

Is parking available at the venue?

La Chureya Estate is a beautiful, intimate villa that does not have a parking lot. There is no parking at the venue, however, there are parking lots nearby if guests would rather drive themselves. The couple recommends taking a short Uber or Lyft ride to the wedding, this will also prevent the possibility of driving under the influence at the end of a lively event with an open bar.

8

at the end of the wedding reception, will there be an after party?

There will! The couple will be extending the good vibes with The Greene Room After Party, a fun kickback-style party at the venue.

9

What other recommendations does the couple have for their big day?

The couple recommends that guests have fun! Aim to arrive early into Palm Springs to cut down on stress and ensure that you can attend all of the fun events that they are planning. The couple also recommends following standard wedding etiquette - no proposals, no inappropriate behavior, going with the flow, respecting the work that their vendors are bringing to the event, and avoid getting too lit too fast. Hailey and Kwesi are inviting their guests to enjoy and celebrate the start to their marriage and know that their nearest and dearest will respect their wishes and bring the absolute best vibes to the day.

10

Can I film or take pictures during the wedding ceremony?

The couple will be having an unplugged ceremony. Meaning that all guests are encouraged to put  their phones and iPads down and engage in a beautiful moment. Don't worry, there will be a "Media Minute" where guests can take as many photos as they want before the start of the ceremony. The ceremony will also be livestreamed and the couple are paying a significant amount of money to capture the moment with their photography and videography team. The bride would be remise to look out into the faces of her loved ones and see nothing but phone cases back at her. They promise that the photos and video completed by the professionals will make up for any footage taken on an iPad. The couple appreciates your understanding!
